Outline 3 examples of typical clients

WAC Solution Partners-Palm Desert, Mike and Laurie Renner outline 3 examples of typical clients for their office:

  • Example of small Quick Books customer, DVBA Desert Valley Builders Association. This one came to us thanks to Eileen Eske from Pacific Premier Bank, who I meet about 6 months after we moved to the desert. This is a membership based Legislative Trade Association with Non-Profit status which includes a number of builders &affiliated trade contractors with  nearly 200 active current  members. They previously had one of their board members that was a CPA doing their accounting but it began to get overwhelming for them. DVBA wanted a dedicated outside company to handle it going forward. WAC came in and implemented a monthly fixed fee for services. We do their day to day accounting including, Accounts Payable. This includes their bill paying, all invoices are approved and signed by the DVBA Executive Director  and processed by WAC. We also prepare their Payroll and Quarterly Taxes. We handle monthly financial statements and budget inputs. Laurie Renner is a Quick Books Pro-Advisor and handles their accounting on an internal version. Eventually as we grew with DVBA, we have moved them to a hosted version in which they purchased the software and have it hosted by a 3rd party,  which is also an expense but a small one, at about $40/month. Now the Executive Director can also access the program as well as us.
  • Example of a Non-Profit with grant tracking and financial accounting requirements. These typical types of Non-Profits have to report typically to Grant Agencies, Members and Board of Directors. We are business partners with Abila Software and their product is MIP Fund Accounting. The customer is Coachella Valley Economic Partnership CVEP, and they were an existing MIP User when were referred to them by their CPA. They began looking for a local Abila partner to help train their staff as well as supplement their accounting staff. This is where WAC came in and trained their staff on MIP Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Budgeting and General Ledger Functions. We also outsource assistance with Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger functions. WAC will fill in accounting functions that are needed.
  • Example of a typical Mid-Sized Company. The client is Angel of the Winds Casino, the worlds friendliest Casino located in Arlington Washington.  In 2005 WAC got a call from their controller who was an experienced Sage 100 formerly MAS90 accounting software. WAC is long time Sage Business Partners with expertise in this product. When we first visited Angel, it was a new Casino owned by Tribal Nation and there was nothing but dirt.  We started with a 3 user licenses of MAS90, with their server under the desk and the two other users.  I did all of the setup for all the accounting and departments for the Casino.  They bought modules for Accounts Payable and General Ledger and all the Slot Machines, Tables etc were entered in daily by what they called auditors. Since that time, 10 years ago, they have grown to over 600 employees and added a hotel, 5 person IT staff and a huge computer server room.  They have added to their software modules including Purchase Order functions and 10 additional users.  WAC has stuck with them through all these years to support, train, and keep them efficient through their growth.
