Letter of Recommendation Mike Renner

Inland Empire Chapter

April 15, 2015

As President of the Inland Empire Chapter of the Grant Professionals Association, I am pleased to recommend Mike Renner to agencies seeking help with financial record keeping and grant administration.

Mr. Renner has been a member and has served as Treasurer for the Inland Empire Chapter of GPA since 2012. Because he sells, provides training, and services a software system that is a benefit offered GPA members (Abila Grant Management), Chapter leaders were a bit apprehensive about having a “salesman” in our midst. Our fears were quickly put to rest. Mike keeps a very low profile and is genuinely interested in learning about grants and other forms of fund development so he can present business solutions that are relevant to the nonprofit community. His manner is patient, responsive, and thoughtful. His experience, not only with GPA, but with a variety of other non-profit agencies and organizations gives him valuable perspectives when dealing with other issues both within and outside the financial arena. His comments in Board meetings are always relevant and useful and his questions to professional development presenters during Chapter meetings often highlight important areas others miss.

Mike clearly knows his field and his products. I have no doubt about his ability to find useful options for dealing with any number of issues surrounding grant management and other fund development activities for both large and small nonprofit operations. If you don’t know what you need, he will quietly ask questions and offer suggestions to help clearly define what you want grant management software to do for your agency. In addition, Mike will be competent, patient, and thorough as he provides training in using the new software system.

I highly recommend Mike Renner as someone who truly cares about finding appropriate solutions to outdated systems and methods of doing things and is willing to spend the time to help people adopt, adapt or upgrade their technology.
