Last week we attended an update by the Sage 100 Presales team on version 2025 of Sage 100. It was released in April 2025, it introduces several enhancements aimed at improving efficiency, security, and user experience. Below is a brief summary of some of the key new features and updates based on available information:
Key New Features in Sage 100 Version 2025
Accounts Receivable Enhancements:
- Expanded Invoice Number Length: The Accounts Receivable invoice number field can now be expanded from 7 to 20 characters, providing greater flexibility for businesses with complex invoicing needs.
- Last Invoice Date and Amount: Added fields in A/R Customer Maintenance to track the last invoice date and amount, improving customer payment tracking
- Purchase Order and Sales Order Improvements:
- Request for Quote (RFQ) Functionality: Users can create a quote in Purchase Order Entry and email an RFQ to one or multiple vendors using Paperless Office, streamlining vendor communication.
- Mandatory Cancellation Codes: An option to require a cancellation code and reason when deleting a Sales Order or Purchase Order/Quote, enhancing audit trails and accountability.
- Customer Phone Number in Sales Order Entry: Added the ability to display and edit customer phone numbers directly in Sales Order Entry for faster access.
Production Management Updates:
- Alphanumeric Revision Numbers: Production Management Template Maintenance now supports alphanumeric revision numbers and descriptions, along with attachments and a “Copy/Renumber Step” feature. All steps can be displayed in List View for better visibility.
- Reverse Work Ticket Costs: Ability to reverse work ticket costs and quantities through Purchase Order Return of Goods, simplifying corrections.
- Standard Cost Rate per Piece Labor: Improved labor cost calculations for more accurate production cost tracking.
Inventory Management Updates:
- UPC/EAN Support: A new feature allows adding Universal Product Codes (UPC) or European Article Numbers (EAN) for items in Item Maintenance.
Sage Supply Chain Intelligence Integration:
- Exclusive to early adopters until Fall 2025, this integration enhances supply chain visibility and decision-making with advanced analytics. This is a product called (Anvyl) that Sage has acquired.
Payroll Updates:
Released alongside Sage 100 2025, Payroll 2.25.1 includes program fixes and compliance updates.
