Overview

Deltennium Clips is a franchise owner of Great Clips Salons in Seattle, Vancouver WA, Portland and Salem OR. Great Clips is North America's premier no-appointment hair salon brand. Deltennium Clips strives to offer excellent service and unique experiences that customers may not find in other salons.

Computer Accounting Services began working with Great Clips owners in 1992 when the Seattle market was first opened, providing complete outsourced bookkeeping services including payroll & direct deposit, payroll tax preparation, accounts payable processing, and general ledger monthly combined financial statements and also by salon. Remote access to FRx multi-salon statements was also offered.

The Challenge

Deltennium Clips needed a bookkeeping and accounting system that would adapt with the addition of new salon locations. Also due to the geographic separation of owners, Deltennium Clips was looking for a system that would allow centralized control over accounting and fiscal reporting. They also wanted each store manager to have the financial statements for their salon for management purposes.

The Solution

In January 2004, Computer Accounting Services began working with Deltennium Clips. Up to this time, Deltennium Clips had been working with ADP for their payroll and had a fully-staffed accounting office located in Portland, Oregon. They owned 19 salons in 4 markets that included Seattle, Vancouver WA, Portland OR and Salem OR. The owners of Deltennium Clips lived in Central Oregon and Florida, and their General Manager lived in Seattle, WA. They closed their accounting office and outsourced the services to Computer Accounting Services with a savings of over $100,000 per year in accounting costs.

To help with the distribution of financial reporting to the owners and General Manager, Computer Accounting Services installed FRx Report Writer. The CFO and General Manager had the FRx drilldown viewers loaded on their laptops which enabled them to upload monthly reports from Computer Accounting Services. In addition to the drilldown viewers, custom reports were created based on the owner's requirements. And reports, such as the "Budget to Variance" report, can be forwarded to each of the salon managers using an Excel output.

The Outcome

"Working with Computer Accounting Services has enabled us to have our information instantly," says Jean Folwell, CFO of Deltennium Clips. In addition to being able to access financial statements remotely, the statements are presented in Excel format and are easily modifiable by the user. Of her experience with Computer Accounting Services, Ms. Folwell says they are "willing to bend over backwards to solve your problems, even at their own expense."
